The 2021 EIT Food Annual Partner event & Venture Summit will take place as back-to-back events over two days at the FYCMA – El Palacio de Ferias y Congresos de Málaga, Spain on 19 & 20 October 2021 in a fully hybrid format.
EIT Food will use this event as an opportunity to celebrate its 5 years of existence and discuss moving forward for impact. With the aim of creating new opportunities for co-operation and building new relationships, this year for the first time ever, part of the event will be open to non-partners from other agrifood leaders, from a.o. industry, academia and civil society, working to solve the biggest challenges in our food system.
Over two focused days, participants will be able to engage in a series of interactive presentations, as well as breakout and networking sessions geared towards showcasing different EIT Food projects from our impact areas, and to kickstart work for the next years. Participants will have the opportunity to take an active role in the EIT Food Marketplace and EIT Food Awards. The Marketplace (on location and virtual) will welcome EIT Food projects and start-ups showcasing their innovative solutions to the food systems challenges, spotlighting their projects and sharing results to both internal and external audiences.
Day 1 will host the Annual Partner Event, EIT Food’s annual partner matchmaking event, where EIT Food partners will gather to network, showcase and matchmake projects from across all of EIT Food’s Impact Areas. EIT Food has already hosted four previous editions of the Annual Partner Event – in Bilbao in 2017, Reading in 2018, Turin in 2019 and in Budapest in 2020. The 2020 edition was attended by around 400 participants.
Day 2 will host The Venture Summit, an annual celebration of EIT Food’s Business Creation activities, gathering the main stakeholders and actors from across the European agrifood innovation community for networking, inspiration and matchmaking. EIT Food has already hosted three previous editions of the Venture Summit – in Paris in 2018, in Lisbon in 2019 attended by about 300 participants (the most recent in-person event), and the 2020 online edition which was hosted in Brussels. Last year’s online edition was attended by around 450 participants.
From the comfort of your own home you can explore commercial partnerships and investment opportunities with 130+ high-impact startups through our online platform, and hear pitches from a select group of some of EIT Food’s leading entrepreneurs.

In order to mark the 5th year of EIT Food and to recognise the valuable work of our partners, we are launching ‘EIT Food Impact Awards’! Every partner and every activity that have previously received investment support from EIT Food can send in an application for the Impact Awards. In addition to being nominated for the Award, all nominations will be featured in our new international publication ‘EIT Food Gamechanging Solutions for Food Systems Transformation’.
EIT Food Impact Awards – will recognise the impactful outcomes of EIT Food activities along our impact pathways. These are: ‘Dietary Change; ‘Trust Conditions’; ‘Circular Economy’; and ‘Environmental Impact’. It will be sufficient for any partner or consortium to complete the attached short templates as application for the Awards. A jury will select top 3 nominees based on impact per each impact category, and during the Partner Day (October 19), we will invite attendees to vote to determine which projects should take home the award.
EIT Food Gamechanging Solutions for Food Systems Transformation – conceptualised to be the ‘Drawdown’ for food systems transformation, this new publication will bring together impactful solutions developed through EIT Food ecosystem and will allow partners and their activities to be recognised internationally. EIT Food will be making the publication featured through United Nations, European Union, FAO, UNFCCC and other relevant international and national organisations and events.
We are looking forward to receiving the completed applications from all partners and all activities.
Please send questions, enquiries and the completed templates to: barbaros.corekoglu@eitfood.eu
